This section is designed as a resource for schools that are considering affiliating with GRHO and schools that recently affiliated and are not sure how to get started. We hope this section answers all your questions, but if you find something missing, please email one of the officers for more information.

What are the benefits of affiliation?

Schools that choose to affiliate with GRHO receive several benefits. Member schools are eligible to apply for program and conference grants from the state. Affiliated schools are also given a vote in boardroom, where you have the opportunity to let your voice be heard and represent the interests of your school. Affiliation also makes your school eligible to participate in Peach Awards, which brings recognition to your school and improves the quality of OTMs being sent to the region and nation.

How does my school affiliate?

Affiliation is an easy two-step process. NCCs will need to fill out the contact form found under the affiliations tab on the GRHO website. The NCC will then need to pay affiliation dues by downloading the appropriate invoice found under the affiliations tab and having a check cut payable to GRHO. Does my school need to be affiliated with NACURH, Inc. in order to affiliate with GRHO?

No! Schools have the option of affiliating with GRHO without being affiliated with NACURH, Inc. or any of the regions with NACURH, Inc.

When does my school need to affiliate?

Affiliation deadlines will be announced by the State Board. Normally, schools will have to affiliate before the state conference sometime early in the spring semester.

How much does it cost to affiliate?

Affiliation fees are determined by the number of residents a schools has. Small schools are designated as having a capacity of less than 2000 residents in campus residence halls. Small schools are charged $25.00 for affiliation. Large are designated as having a capacity of 2000 or more residents in campus residence halls. Large schools are charged $50.00 for affiliation

How do we pay the affiliation fee?

Invoices for both small and large school dues can be found under the affiliations tab on the GRHO website. NCCs should download the appropriate invoice and have a check cut payable to GRHO.

What is affiliation money used for?

Money from affiliation dues is used to fund the operation of the Georgia Residence Hall Organization. Monies are used to purchase supplies for the Peach Awards, fund conference and program grants, web hosting fees, etc… For questions regarding specific purchases, please contact the State Director or the State Advisor.

Who can affiliate?

Any college or university within the borders of the State of Georgia that has an active Residence Hall Association is eligible for affiliation.
